Michael James Robin

WRITER  |  TEACHER  |  COOK

A born-and-bred New Yorker who now lives in LA, Michael James Robin has been writing since 1998, when he penned a three-page handwritten letter to Blizzard Entertainment begging them not to cancel Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans. More recently, he was a member of the Warner Bros. Writers’ Workshop and a Staff Writer on the HBO Max reboot of Degrassi. (Alas, he has not yet attended a Bar Mitzvah with Drake.)

After college, Michael joined Teach for America and taught The Great Gatsby as if it were a soap opera, produced the first talent show at Wilbur Cross High School in over a decade, and had to explain to 11th graders why it’s not appropriate to watch tentacle porn during English class.

A passionate cook who also has celiac disease, Michael co-produced and cooked James Beard winner Michael Twitty’s 2024 Koshersoul pop-up and has studied gluten-free baking in France under Tartine co-founder Liz Prueitt and gluten-free pasta making under Stefano Corvucci at the Culinary Institute of Bologna.

When he’s not writing, you’re likely to find Michael scuba diving, scallop hunting, playing Terraforming Mars, hosting Shabbat, or goofing off with his goldendoodle Biggie Lebowski.

He is repped by David Baird at Kinetic Management.
